Caring for your Artwork

Framing

Professional matting & framing with acid free materials is recommended at your earliest convenience to protect your artwork, and add the finishing touch to match your decor. Red’s packaging is only a temporary home.

Environment

Ideal climate is 40-50% humidity with a temperature of 70-75 Fahrenheit. Works on paper are fragile. Excessive humidity can warp the paper, and damage the work.

Lighting

Do not place original artwork in direct sunlight. Bright, direct light can damage pigments, and potentially cause discoloration and fading over time.

Hanging

Hang the artwork away from overly dusty or dirty places, and away from all liquids. Avoid locations that get direct sunlight, especially for watercolor marker & gouache.

Protection

Do not touch your artwork. When you have received it, get it professionally matted & framed as soon as possible to protect it and ensure it is around for many years to come.

Framing: Acrylics

Acrylic paintings are painted onto a board that does not need matting or glass. Pop it into a frame that is the same size as the artwork, and it’s good to go! It can be gently dusted, and even gently washed off with a damp soft cloth should it be needed.
